So its been a busy couple of weeks for me culminating in my first designer market. The Young designers market, on South bank, is put together by a judging panel. They have the argues task of choosing the creme de le creme of design, fashion, jewellery and craft for a once a month market that is held on a closed of rd on South bank.
I was fortunate to get into this one and set to polishing and tagging all my jewellery. I also had to be selective as a busy stand is always off putting. A simple black and white crisp display was made possible by stretch canvases of different heights and length, a black sheet pinned back and a few perspex stands. The table was finished of with beautiful cards and a flip through catalogue. No over the top draping or frills....which i was tempted to do and then stopped by my husband. My pieces are so organic that they need a clear crisp display and I'm glad it worked so well.
There were a few new issues i had to work my head around with this market. As we needed to bring our own tables and chairs as well as displays i had to think of portability as well as compact storage. I was expecting to take public transport to and from the market so it also had to light.
We'll with the ingenuity of my husband i managed to solve all of those things and still have a grate display so yes all of that (above) packed into this (below).
Not bad i don't think!
Look out for my jewellery at the Young designers market, South bank, Brisbane on the following dates:
2 August
6 September
4 October
1 November
6 December
Thanks to everyone for their wonderful support.
