Craft + Art + Design exhibition

So i've been frantically making lately, not only to suply my shops but also to put together a collection of 50 pieces for a group exhibition at Dogwood crossing @ Miles, Queensland.
The exhibition is called "Craft + Art = Design" and features contemporary artist in all different art fields from around Australia.
It opens 13 November, so just a couple of weeks excuse me if i get back to work. Wish me luck.

I'll post the pictures of some new pieces as soon as i'm done.

A spring of new earrings

Here are a few new pieces i have been working on and some are improvements of old ideas. Just making them has got me exited to make more and create variations of these forms. I particularly like the leaf and garnet earrings....i can see the contrasted elements of them being applied to so many other pieces

Leaf and garnet earrings

These are double star daisy earrings that are now being sold as 2 pairs together. They are quite small and individually they just looked insignificant, but together they make a worth while gift.

Double star daisy earrings

Originally i had bell flower earrings on hoops but the wire would always catch or distort not to mention the flower always slipped of. These new versions are more a hook and by having a small detail at the top of the hook it also stops the bell from falling of.

I need to make some extra to add these to my Etsy shop.....that will be my next task.

Progress is a funny thing.
It is not a straight line, nor does it flow a single way.
Sometimes progress is a step back.
Sometimes progress seems dormant, just like the bare braches of trees in the winter. Their sap retreated and in the cold of winter they seem lifeless. That is until spring when without calendars or alarm clocks they begin to show life in the form of tiny buds. A spring shower and a little time the leaves begin to show as a fuzz of fresh green colour.

I have neglected my blog for quite some time now, seeming dormant to the world. But I have been making progress even if at times I feel I’ve fallen back. When I reflect on the past few months there are many things that have helped me prepare for my own growth. So instead of not mentioning them because of lapped time and bad internet reception, I’ll take the time to post the significant events in hindsight. After all this blog is are reflection of my own design journey, and there are no rules for that.

To make it easier ill post links to these postings
