So it's a lovely drizzly day at this months Young designers market, South bank, Brisbane. With one month to go before I print out the next catalogue, I'm starting to finalise some new ranges and I find colour is popping up everywhere in the form of different cut or beaded stones. The orchid range also has a new exiting addition of stem earring, they look as though the flower has been picked and placed in the ear.......with a long accentuated hook becoming a feature.
Here is a sneak peak of what to find for the upcoming year.
Here are some photos from the market.

Wisteria: new home, new photographic backgrounds to explor.
So with the new house my old standard "go to's"
for photographing my jewellery in a setting
have changed.
That’s never a bad thing. New means new exploration and now I
get to look at what could work, what I’ve done in the past and what would work
in my jewellery. These moss covered rocks were my first attempt.

I like them but as always it’s a fine line with the colouring of the jewellery and the background, as well as the business of the background. Organic forms on organic filled background can sometimes be to much to look at and focus in on as the viewer and that’s why I always photograph my work on a white background.
Let me know what you think!

The first winter snow....... Flower
Still don't know the name of this plant but it's simply stunning in full bloom. With no snow in Brisbane it's my substitute for winter snow.
Wisteria Hysteria
Finally I’ve got a chance to sit down and edit some photo's
and at the top of the list was my Wisteria ring. If ever there was a "shy
wall flower" in the form of a ring it would be this one, 3 photo shoots
later and I’m now happy with the images.
I hope this rings shy start leads to a bold responce.....enjoy!
I started making this
Wisteria ring probable late last year and only finished it about a month ago.
It just kept asking to be put on the shelf, small features needed more time to
be thought about and tested. I always need to be 100% happy my work or it
effects everything else I do and sometimes that’s just how my creativity works…….
Slowly.

Mixed flowers
The month of February, or month of love for some, has lead me to a new love, well an old love rekindled. I had the opportunity to design and create a set of jewellery with cut stones in,.... blue and purple where the preference. So i used Amethyst and London blue topaz, stunning colours with the silver. Jumping at the opportunity, I used this moment to make up some ideas that i have been playing around with. There was a time frame added to the mix...... so using, as always, the pressure of a deadline to push past procrastination masked as perfectionism or uncertainty i create a beautiful set of jewellery, a bangle and matching earrings.
The result......
From this i have now create a new range called Mixed flowers: with earrings, bangles and rings, to start. I will be keeping with shades of blue and purple, but i can already see my head spinning into different ideas.
The first batch are to go down to The Goldsmiths Gallery, soon.
As for all those other fans waiting with bated breath for more stone pieces they are on the way.

At the end of February i will announce the winner.

Back to work, a good start to 2012
Happy New Year everyone!
After taking a week of to spend with my Husband and Son, and having Mitchels First birthday its good to get back to my blog, my bench and my designs, ........only a short break.
So this week, its back to making stock for my next Young Designers market this Sunday (8/1/2012), finishing orders and refresh stock in my shops. First shop on the list is Handmade Highstreet, who had a bumper first month open. Well done!
Its so exiting to see people loving my work.
